Understanding the condition and the incident
An investigation may examine walkways, stairs, ramps, parking areas, lighting, elevation changes and other relevant property features. The analysis considers how the reported event relates to the physical condition and what the available records establish about that condition.
Measurements, records and applicable criteria
Depending on the assignment, HUB reviews photographs, video, inspection and maintenance information, drawings and other records; documents site measurements; and evaluates relevant codes and technical standards. The property, use, condition and date at issue matter when selecting applicable criteria.
Opinions supported by physical evidence
Engineering reports and exhibits explain the reasoning behind the opinion, including evidence and limitations. Anatomy of a Failure describes an approved investigation of a vinyl fence and its connections and support.

Questions from counsel
Does HUB work with plaintiff and defense counsel?
Yes. HUB provides independent forensic engineering analysis for both plaintiff and defense counsel, subject to conflict, scope and availability review.
Can HUB review a case before litigation begins?
Yes. Early review can help identify technical issues, needed records and whether inspection or testing should be considered before conditions change.
Can HUB determine whether an owner had legal notice?
HUB can examine physical conditions and relevant inspection or maintenance evidence. Legal notice and liability are matters for counsel and the court, not conclusions established by a measurement alone.
